Powder Brows

Soft, powdery color, applied with a tattoo machine.

The Technique

One technique, many names

“Powder brows,” “ombre brows,” “shading brows,” and “eyebrow powdering” are all names artists use for the same core technique: microshading. It’s applied with a tattoo machine rather than a hand tool, layering tiny dots of pigment to build soft, powdery definition. The result looks like your brows filled in with your favorite pencil or powder, not individual blade-cut hair strokes.

If you’ve researched microblading elsewhere: that technique uses a handheld blade to cut fine hair-stroke lines into the skin. We work exclusively in microshading, which tends to heal more evenly across a much wider range of skin types since it doesn’t rely on the skin holding a crisp cut line.

  • Soft, “your-brows-but-better” powder finish
  • Predictable healing on all skin types
  • Fully customizable from soft wash of color to a defined, makeup-like brow

Who it’s great for

Clients with sparse, over-tweezed, or asymmetrical brows; every skin type, including oily and combination skin; anyone who prefers a softer, more filled-in look over crisp hair strokes; and clients touching up previous PMU work.

What to expect

A design conversation at the start of your appointment, numbing, and a procedure lasting roughly 2–2.5 hours. Brows will appear noticeably darker for several days before softening ~30–40% as they heal. A touch-up at 6–8 weeks is included.

Color Boost (Other Artist’s Work)

Already have brows from another artist, whether powder, ombre, or even microblading, and the shape still holds up? A single color boost session may be all you need. Every case is different, so please text or email first at 425.477.9113 or info@diamondheartskinstudio.com to confirm before booking.

Healing timelines and color retention vary by individual skin type, aftercare compliance, and sun exposure. See the Aftercare and FAQ pages for details.
