Aftercare
Gentle, consistent care for the first 10–14 days
Do not pick, peel, or scratch
As treated skin heals, it will flake and shed naturally. This is normal. Picking or scratching can pull pigment out unevenly, leaving patchy or lighter spots. Letting it flake off entirely on its own will give you the best results.
- Until the treated area has fully flaked off, try to keep it as dry as possible, avoiding heavy sweating, saunas, hot yoga, and swimming with your face submerged.
- When showering, keep your face directly out of the water stream and wash your hair last to reduce the amount of water hitting your face.
- Avoid direct sun exposure on the treated area for the first 14 days and do not apply sunscreen to open, healing skin.
- Do not apply makeup on or near the treated area until it is fully healed. This includes foundation and powder.
- Resume retinols, tretinoin, acids, and Latisse/lash growth serums 2-4 weeks after your touch-up appointment.
- Trust the process!
Brows
1-2 hours after your procedure, gently wash brows with a cotton pad and soap, preferably antibacterial. An hour after that, and every hour until bedtime the day of your procedure, gently tap brows with the provided antiseptic on a cotton swab or pad. Starting on day 2 or 3, you can apply a very thin layer of the provided healing balm morning and night. Do not apply other occlusive products such as Neosporin, Vaseline, or Aquaphor. In 4-7 days, the crusts will flake off by themselves.
Lips
1-2 hours after your procedure, gently wash lips with a cotton pad and soap, preferably antibacterial. An hour after that, and every hour until bedtime the day of your procedure, gently tap lips with the provided antiseptic on a cotton swab or pad. Keep lips moisturized with a very thin layer of the provided healing balm. Do not apply other occlusive products such as Neosporin, Vaseline, or Aquaphor. Avoid salty, spicy, or acidic foods and hot beverages on the area for the first several days. If a cold sore begins to form, treat it right away with prescribed or OTC medication.
Eyes
The main rule is to simply not touch the treated area. Expect mild swelling for the first couple of days. An ice pack wrapped in a clean tissue can help reduce swelling. Clear eye drops can be used for dryness.
